Our Staff

 Meet Thomas

Meet Thomas O’Malley Montoya                               ….king of Park Hill Veterinary Medical Center. Our leonine mascot is a Maine Coon Cat. Thomas came to us from the Denver Dumb Friends League and as turned out to be the perfect resident to entertain our clients and our staff.

With no fear of dogs and a desire to taunt feline patients by staring them down, Thomas struts his stuff every day. He loves catnip, sleeping in odd places and being fed – particularly Cheez-Its (in very limited amounts).

VETERINARY NURSES

Jennifer Hare, CVT

Still trying to convince our Lead Veterinary Nurse to complete her biography – Bio Coming Someday Soon.

Elizabeth Sack

Liz serves us as both a veterinary nurse and client care specialist , Liz is originally from near Buffalo, NY. She earned Bachelor’s of Science degrees in Biology and Psychology with concentrations in marine mammal biology, genetics and neuropsychology. Once armed with her education, Liz headed to Mississippi where as a marine mammal trainer she worked with sea lions and dolphins for nine years. One hurricane too many led Liz into a new field. She has worked as a veterinary technician for the past three years, finding that her marine mammal husbandry and training skills move readily in small animal care. In the near future, Liz hopes to earn her veterinary technician certification. Professionally, she enjoys radiology, veterinary dentistry and animal behavior. Three crazy kitties (Jake, Shannie and Bella-Angel) and one slightly confused mini-lop rabbit (Giacomo), who would tell you he is a cat. “The best thing about working in a veterinary hospital is getting to build lasting relationships with animals and their owners. And, getting to be around furry critters all day!” says Liz.

Client Care Specialists

Alexandra Smith

Alex joined Park Hill Veterinary Medical Center in early 2012. While working on her degree in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at CU Boulder, she interned and later became an employee at a wildlife rehabilitation center. Her passion and love for animals truly flourished during her three years there. In 2009, Alex decided to switch to companion animal care and began a position at a large animal hospital with a focus on pain management. In addition to her background in veterinary care, she has over eight years of customer service experience. She deeply respects PHVMC’s mission to make every client feel like they and their pets truly matter. As a Colorado native, she enjoys spending her time outdoors – winters on the slopes and summers biking or hiking with her husky Zoom.

Leslie Aquistapace

Leslie does double duty as both a Client Care Specialist and Veterinary Assistant. Originally from northern California, she grew up on a mini-farm surrounded by rabbits, chickens, quail and Guinea pigs. Leslie has worked for Trader Joe’s and Jenny Craig, but her lifelong love of working with animals led her to move to Denver to attend the Bel-Rea veterinary technician program. She and her adorable dachshund Trixie are regulars at area dog parks – so if you see them at play, feel free to say, “hi.” In her free time, Leslie also volunteers at the Denver Dumb Friends League.

Veterinary Assistants

Giselle Trujillo

Sunny, San Diego native Giselle has known from a very early age that she wanted to work with animals. During Thanksgiving break her senior year of high school, Giselle made up her mind that as soon as she had her diploma in hand, she was headed for Colorado and the Bel-Rea Institute of Veterinary Technology. It was a big decision, moving to a new state and city where she knew not a soul to pursue her career dreams. Now soon to graduate, Giselle joined the PHVMC team in February as a Veterinary Assistant. She is kept company by her big dogs, Howie and Callie, and opinionated cat Montey.

Elizabeth Wallace

A Denver native, Elizabeth has had a passion for animals her whole life. She regularly takes the family Vizlas, four in total, for romps to Cherry Creek State Park. After earning her Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology at the University of Oregon, Elizabeth has made a career move into animal health care. A current student at the Bel-Rea Institute of Veterinary Technology, she greatly enjoys working with pets and their people. When not studying, Elizabeth enjoys hiking, reading and movies. Professionally, she looks forward to learning more about animal behavior and preventative care. Elizabeth is truly dedicated to making pets feel as comfortable here at PHVMC as they would be in their own homes.
